My Truth

I’m watching myself from the outside

The girl in the mirror isn’t me

The girl you see before you is fake

A facade I want you to see

Inside I feel so empty sometimes

But I hide it so you won’t worry

I hide it by making your emotions mine

I hide it, because if you knew you’d leave in a hurry

If you knew the me I know you’d leave

I’m cold and empty

A void like you wouldn’t believe

So your emotions are the ones you see

I’m empty most of the time

Sometimes I get spikes of emotion

But when that happens most of the time I’m crying

And everything is in slow motion

I’m empty most of the time

And I know I need help

But this story is mine

And you run when you hear my yelp
