My Turn

Lacerated and torn, submerged under the water- A segregated town- God's free will was the faulter. A simple wolf whistle would be the death of the youth- His name was Emmett Till, and he longed for the truth- A bus on routine, probably driving the same route, Indeed it was a unique day for those who lived in the South. A woman refused her seat to a man we know as her equal- Her name was Rosa Parks, and her legend's got a sequel. While the great pool reflected people, a man reflected his "schemes"- Of a perfect world rendered, but only accomplished with a team. Be judged by your character alone, as great as it seems- His name was Martin Luther, and he had a Dream. A small docile town, one in the Promised Land- Our heroes ain't here, but they were our crutch so we could stand. I think I can't change things, I am just too small and too feeble-but- My name is Denny Sickle, and it's my turn to fight for the people.
