My Ultimate Protector

I look out onto the calm seashores

As I feel like a prisoner of war

I’m trapped out here alone

Out in this blue, littoral zone

Theres no longer anyone here

To wrap me into my warm bed

and no one to call me dear

Or to make sure I eat my bread

No one to tell me it will all be okay

or to be back home by the end of the day

The space is filled with pure silence

Without any form of guidance

The scent of homecooked pie

Has been replaced with briny air

The affectionate good-bye

Was something I used to despair

Oh, I miss the bothersome warnings

That rang throughout my mornings

To always wear my heavy jacket

And not to forget my tennis racket

The countless times I have left

To spend the night with my friends

Were nothing compared to the best

The best mother, she is Godsent

I contemplate my hidden observation

that out of all the things in creation

From this over the other

Is only my precious mother
