My Verse to The Powerful Play.
I am not just this flesh shell we call bodies,
I am made up of everything too big.
There are universes coursing through my veins.
All the while, thin skin blankets the poems etched into my bones.
Azure stars fall from the sky into my glass windows.
Staining them.
My soul is full of blazing suns that grow with each beat of my aortic drum.
But there is also that dark corner that tries to quiet this raging rhythm.
These stars refuse to burn up though.
Thoughts swirl like purple wind,
leaving traces of shapes and ideas in my mixed up brain.
Blessing and cursing me with this inspired wave;
I must create.
I am covered in memories that have been carved carefully into my pale skin with red ink,
Scars.
These artful marks bare my stories.
My experiences.
My life.
I've been branded "Original".
I'm an adventurer's leather satchel filled with treasures only found from paths not taken.
Indiana Jones would die for these artifacts.
I'm a constant battle between being a cool breeze and a riotous New Years Eve.
There is a cup within me that is full of this emotional ocean...
I'm drowning in it.
But I'm slowly learning how to swim.
This home I occupy is completely full;
the seams are starting to burst.
My light doesn't escape me though.
The relief of knowing I'm not dimming.
I am not defined as just a pretty face,
I'm immensely more than the sky could ever contain.
