My Voice

Maybe I can't sing but I wanna try to  bring

The same emotions and feelings as if I could sing

So I will speak those emotions into being

And waken those feelings out of sleeping

With; my voice.

You will feel what I am thinking

When you hear what I am speaking

With my voice.

You will forget that I can't sing

When my words begin to ring,

And start to light a fire

As musically sweet as a lyre

Using my voice

Then you will know the emotions

That make their motions

To be heard in my head

And what distractions

Take traction

Whenever I try to take action

As I hone my voice

You will start to get to know me

As you hear my spoken poetry

And my voice.
