My Walking Angel
I know these words aren't in a card,
And honestly I don't know where to start...
They may not be beautifully written,
But they certainly come from the heart...
Alone and scared,
I had no where to turn...
Talking isn't easy,
You'd think by now I would learn...
Running from God,
And hiding from myself...
For some greater reason you were put in my life,
Holding in my hands a heart bruised on a forgotten shelf...
You simply listened,
Took time that others “couldn't”...
Help seemed so far away,
Accept it, I just wouldn't...
I let you in,
You cared so much...
I didn't want to bother you,
But my heart you began to touch...
I came one day heavyhearted,
Not knowing what to do...
You simply listened and gave a hug,
You don't realize how much that got me through...
You are an inspiration,
A true gift from above...
You give so much time and effort,
So much needed love...
I'm so blessed to know you,
And thank God everyday!...
For putting you in my life,
I don't know exactly what to say...
You do so much for others,
Seeming to put yourself last...
Taking that extra time,
Helping put it in the past...
I want you to know you're loved,
And extremely appreciated!..
I thank you for all you do,
And for how you're so dedicated...
My words may not mean much,
Considering I'm only seventeen...
Keep your head held high and smile planted,
Always remember... Philippians 4:13!
