My Weakness

Every one has their vices.

Some drink, some smoke.

Others lie, cheat, steal.

Some crave sweet treats

Candy canes, chocolate kisses, or cake.

Eating to excess, gambling,

Exersise and sports.

Chasing money, fame

Power and attention.

I am not them, they are not me.

I am not perfect,

Yet the path to my weakness does not lead

to money fame or material things.

No, my weakness is you.

Your smile, radiant beauty,

the twinkle in your eye,

the touch of your soft lips,

and the sweet summery scent

wafting up from the curls framing your face.

You burn like fire in my veins,

I am under your spell,

Powerless to resist.

The sweet music of your laughter lifts me up,

A feather floating free in the wind,

while tears that glisten and fall

from your sky blue eyes

crush my soul.

A day without you

feels as if time has stopped

a vacant empty space

stretching out to infintity,

and beyond.

My life is meaningless

without you by my side.

Here is to many more years

with you by my side

My wife and friend

My love for you

Has no end.
