My Words

Following all the haikus I composed for you,

With every effort made to ensure they rang true.

After all the contemplative verses I wrote,

It was as if your radiance transcended note.

And with each and every ode I crafted,

It seemed as though my words fell out of habit.

Leaving me with nothing but the echoes of my own voice,

As I struggled to find the right words, the right choice.
