My Words Matter

Poetry has taught me that my words matter

My words really do matter

It's your words that make the poetry

It's your words that make people feel something

It's your words that move others

Poetry gives you a chance to communicate with people when you can't

It allows you to paint a picture in someone's head

Which comes in handy for those of us who aren't "artistic"

But poetry is an art

Some may say that poetry is simpling just putting some words together

But it's more than that

It takes skills to put those words together in a way that pleases you

In a way that tells a story, or a message

In simple terms, poetry is my way to talk to the world

It's through poetry that my words matter

That my words really matter
