My Words Won't Work

I want to write something good,
but I can't.
The words don't work as they should.
I try them here,
and I try them there.
They sound all wrong
and it doesn't seem fair.

The page remained as empty space,
until I put these words in place.
I let the words flow through my head,
searching for the perfect way,
to make known the things
I wish to say.

I ask questions.
to myself, quietly.
There it is,
I have it finally!

I have found my lack,
of the perfect word,
and I fix it
so it is ready to be heard.
