My World
My world seems to be rushing and racing,
Fasting and pacing,
As if someone had hit the fast forward button on everybody else, but forgot to press play on me.
As I watch, still paused, frozen in time,
Everyone is journeying through as if their world had no evil, no bad, no wrong, as if expected to be handed that happy ending
As if they don't know anyone else's sorrow or misery. Yet I do.
I've grown up in a world where my parents clash,
My brother seems to always relapse,
And my sister, wallowing in her forever painful misery.
No one knows her sadness or understands her antics.
But I do.
And all I can do is watch her, watch her sadness and misery drag her down to the dark abyss where she is caught in the wrong and right.
All I can tell her is that I love her. My sister.
I mediate that pain, because at the end of the day,
All I have left is for hope of tomorrow, of a better day,
That one day, someone will hit play on my happy ending.
