My Worst-Best Decision

To my worst-best decision that I ever made yet

It’s hard to imagine life without your impact

The opportunity you offered is one I’ll never forget

I have a bond with you now that I cannot retract

With grit, you have given me a better look on life

Though real, you are essentially just a metaphor

Sometimes you pay off, and sometimes you end in strife

But your chances for success leave me hungry for more

Thank you long runs, hill workouts, and some heartburn

From you I have learned one of life's greatest lessons

There will always be pain and discomfort but in turn,

It is what you do in adversity that makes the impression

Perseverance and courage is talked of but seen by few

Due to running, I hope others think that I have this too
