Myself

To those of you who said I was ugly

I am not

To those who said my birthmarks are weird

They are not

To those who said my personality did not fit in

To those who said you can't make it

To those who called me names

To those of you who did not understand me

You were wrong

I am powerful

Beautiful

Unique

Colorful

Bright

I am something different

You did not understand me

I made myself wings and soared on them

You all laughed at me

I saw things no one saw

Did things no one appreciated

And in the end?

I became more human

I am myself

I don't have to wear a mask anymore
