NaBee: A reflection of a bite of my life
My life isn’t biter nor sweet
I can tell you it isn’t pleasant to eat
I can’t tell you all
But I can tell you in one bite
This is the time I came to light
I came to this world wanting to see
A good life ahead of me
But mommy dearest made it to be
Something terrible unfortunately
I have to say
I didn’t leave after one day
There were many accounts I can accuse
That she punched shoved and abused
Then one day in July on a sunny afternoon
I never thought I’d leave so soon
It all happened on Vet’s Highway
When she drove back and looked my way
She beeped so loud my sisters were scared
You knew right then she was angry mama bear
She punched she scratched she cursed and slapped
I was done right there
I wasn’t going with her no where
At that moment Nabee came out of the hive
the butterfly bee just arrived
My story ends with that certain day
I’m free now with more to say
I’m glad everything is going my way
Here I am standing today
With mommy dearest far away
I am free
I am Nabee
Beauty was she
And the bee was me.
Then I see sadness in her eyes
No tears no cries
When I look in her face
I turn away
Just to look back and see if she’s ok
As soon as she was freed
I could no longer see
The glass only showed a reflection of me
Can this be?
Is this truly me?
The girl who always kept me company
Locked behind glass surrounded by brass
She looked at me with such sympathy
Now she’s gone
Our dual has become one
She is me
Nabee
The butterfly and bee has become one
Beauty was she
And the bee was me.
