Naked Feelings

Have you ever sat on the bus, On a park bench, In a crowded room, And not know anyone, No one knows who you are, Where you're from, What you do, What you know, They just see what's on the surface, The ripped cover of a leather bound book, The glisten of the paint, The smell of the flowers, In order to read your story, The skin has to be peeled back, Your darkest secrets exposed, Hiding deep inside of the steel rib cage, Growing roots in your lungs, The reasons why it's so hard for you to breathe, The bravest person will know how to salvage what is left of your heart, You won't be fixed, The scars will still linger, But the ability to breathe, That will once again be intact
