Name _________________

Name ____________________

They call me by my name.

A name they think makes me, me.

My name somehow became my identity.

If that’s true, my identity is shared.

Shared, not unique.

They say I am one in seven billion.

My identity is one in 176,000.

Like Shakespeare, I question what is in a name?

If unique is out, then is there an answer?

A name draws attention,

A name makes heads turn,

but does a name define me?

Does a name know my future career?

Does a name know my personality?

Does a name know my secrets?

No, in fact, it does not.

But to introduce my unique self to another,

what do I say?

“Hi, my name is Kristen.”
