The Name of The Pattern
To begin there was life
So beautiful to see
To begin you were right
But you forgot about me
Deep beneath the skin
The beauty hides a lie
The surface oh so thin
That they will never find
Everywhere in nature
You will see new life
But all of them will suffer
And the day follows night
You didn't come here to live
You are here to die
And that is the pattern
Your truth is a lie
Every heart will break
And every light will fade
All the white will turn to black
The last headstone will be laid
For though the day follows night
The night follows day
Nothing lasts forever
And we will fade away
The pale horse is eternal
But nothing is the same
Only death will live forever
The Reaper is his name
He is the pattern
And also the shape
The black flames of shadow
That you cannot escape
