Nappy by Nature

growing up as a black boy, i was raised different

being nappy by nature, i was exposed to a life so explicit with obligation to memorize the rules of engagement

or I'd end up dead, blood rushing out of the back of my head.. on a white man's pavment

they say its not about race

they say that bullets see no color, but the puller of the trigger of the stadard issue police does..

but even with all the rules and regulations, laws past by legistlation, the killer gets away because of his non-black complexion and the victim is left to live in the memories of other's minds but never to walk this earth again..

im not your stereotypical black boy, but that doesnt stop you from seeing me that way

big, black, violent, and dangerous..

but even if it was true, who is to blame us?

growing up feeling scared when I hear sirens because I could be the next victim of police brutality.. more like mortal combat fatality because they shoot to kill.

never to serve and protect, but instead the slay and eject and project me to be a mindless militan with a bullseye in the middle of my forehead.

i dont understand

just like you, i am of this land but we stay separated like the stay from the sand because you see yourself as mighty waves of superiority.. and i as a washed up inferior minority

sorry, but I am nappy by nature..
