Narrowing The Gap

my body is in chains

that my mother has given to me

I don't want to go down this road, the lane

was getting smaller

but you, are now in power

I have to pay to bleed

what?

you won't "grab her" when she bleeds?

some of us have accepted it

but all I want to do is reject it

reject you

with your small cheeto puff fingers

grabbing us by the neck

your hesitation will never linger

pushing us off the deck

appreciate us only when we strip

ripping us from our dignity and pride

grabbing us by our hips

for four years, I can't hide.
