Natural Anxiety
As I lay awake in bed,
Worry scampers through my head,
Back and forth she goes,
Singing a melody no one knows,
Don’t you fret about the cost,’
As I walk outside the door,
Concern greets me like a whore,
Back and forth she goes,
Singing a melody no one knows,
‘The day is yours to be lost,
Don’t you fret about the cost,’
As I drive my car to work,
Anxiety starts to prowl and lurk,
Back and forth she goes,
Singing a melody no one knows,
‘The day is yours to be lost,
Don’t you fret about the cost,’
As I sit behind the counter,
Unease swirls round and rounder,
Back and forth she goes,
Singing a melody no one knows,
Don’t you fret about the cost,’
Why my personality,
Is not more like a B,
Up and down I’ll go,
Singing a melody I only know,
‘The day is yours to be lost,
Don’t you fret about the cost.’
