Nature

The day is hot and has no end.

The grass is green and long.

No animal is warm in bed,

Before the seasons change with nature's song.

The leaves change color,

The wind is crisp,

The nights are longer,

Dinner is warm bisque.

Leaves are gone and grass is dead.

Animals are gone from sight.

"Snow day tomorrow" the weatherman said,

Excitement keeps the kids up all night.

The earth awakes from her long nap.

The animals and flowers rejoice.

The trees regain their sugary sap.

People go outside by choice.

Nature is always changing,

With her force so strong.

The elements can be raging,

Or as gentle as her song.

I hope to be like nature,

And never lose a fight.

And amidst all my wild discomfiture,

To always have a light.
