Nature's Call
Nature is waving, can you see?
She'll show you things, I guarantee.
Things that are mostly left unseen
Unless you make silence your scene.
Minnows that play along the shore,
How fields of grass wave on the moore,
The way a kitten's whisker curls,
And bird's wing gracefully unfurls.
How the ants march in stately lines,
The way honey in sunlight shines,
Bees that care for every flower,
And dew that gleams after showers.
All Nature's sweetest gifts obscure
Till you stop to see her grandeur.
Nature is calling, can you hear?
She's whispering things so sincere.
Things that are mostly left unheard
Unless you utter not a word.
But sit in silence with open ear
And in the bellow of a steer,
And on the flap of songbird's wings
Nature her languishing song sings.
For man is trapped within a cave,
Where distracting din is a knave.
He feeds man sights and sounds of fraud,
But underneath the dark facade,
A gentle tug, a quiet plea,
A silent beckon to be free.
And if man can escape the blight,
He might find a glimpse of light.
