Nature's Grace

The ink flows out of my finger tips

With long high arches and low reaching dips

Upon the page the words do dance

Like silvery horses set to prance

The words cascade from my heart and head

And they flow all over the sitting bed

And the words swirl down in patterns tight

And they grace the strings of the sinking light

Along the road, the words do flow

With the sunshine sinking low

And suddenly the words did stop

And I stood and watched the sunshine drop

And as the world turned day to night

And I stood inside the sinking light

I felt a grace I’d never known

And I saw a forest overgrown

And as I walked among the trees

My hair moved around in the elegant breeze

And my eyes welled up with tears of blue

And the dirt seeped into my worn out shoes

The world closed in as I sat down

And put my hands on the freezing ground

I was overcome with such serene peace

And suddenly, the wind did cease

And I saw the world as clear as day

And my walls all gave way

And the rhythmic words began to form

Like a hug that made me feel all warm

The barrier lay broken at my feet

Inside my body my heart did beat

And I was overcome by the words around

In the forest, I could hear them sound

I threw my arms wide and I began to run

And I beamed as wide as the shining sun

A laugh fluttered out of my lips

And I came to a valley where the land dips

And I watched as the trees began to fade away

The bows of all of them began to sway

I sat down once more in the dirt and grass

And the world turned from green to brass

The words flowed back up into the bed

They raced along and into my head

With a sudden jolt, I grabbed a pen

With my mind still sitting in the glen

With the image in mind I found a new light

And dancing on the leaves, my words took flight

The rhythms and beats all intertwined

And my heart had blossomed into one that is kind

The forest walk had opened my eyes

The clouds had parted to blue eyes

And for the first time, my fingertips moved

And cemented on the page, like a rebel unmoved

This was very sweet, and we'll though out, yet natural.
