A Necessity

Not a want but rather a necessity,

Honestly it is a quite a pity

That what I can't live without

You rarely think about.

Inside my body my pancreas takes up space,

You'd think it works but that's not the case.

Yes, my pancreas is dead

For a new one I will happily pay the highest bid.

But the latter would be in vain

My white blood cells are insane.

We don't know what they would do

Who knows, they might kill that pancreas too.

There is no doubt, that without insulin I am sure to perish

And so on an island all alone, insulin is what I would cherish.
