Necessity
I taught myself to be alone
I taught myself to be unknown
I told myself I didn't need them
I told myself I wouldn't bend
Or break because I am strong
That I had been alone all along
So it didn't matter anyway
Soon enough I would go away
I lived for myself, inconsiderate
The thoughts of others, I became illerate
And I told myself I didn't need you
But that quickly became to be untrue
Because you looked at me like fragile glass
Like loving me wasn't a difficult task
And I accepted a fate that was then new
To love and be loved by you
A sensation my heart grew to require
A need now, instead of a desire
I need nothing fancy, I need no one else
I need not to only worry about myself
I am selfish with your attention
I swoon at your name, if mentioned
All I need is a person of independence
That clings onto my every sentence
Once we were apart, but that changed
That every day our heartstrings rearranged
Now I am you, and you are meAnd that is the only thing I need
