Necklace
Do you remember when we first met?
I had a secret in my sleeves
A weight on my chest
You were shiny and silver
I knew I would corrupt you
You were bought as a gift
A magic you held
The Dragon encircling opal
The Star that my heart held
You grew closer to me
Tender, soft
Like the flesh in my arms
The parts I wished to cut off
You watched as I held a choice
Sitting in rose-colored water
The Dragon threatening opal
The Seconds that made me stop
The sword was thrown away
But battles had yet to be fought
The Dragon becoming my shadow
The curse I had counted as lost
I hated you for a while
For the memories you brought
Covered in rose-colored water
Fear of what I had lost
I tried to replace your silver shine
Forget the shadow behind me
Feel the sun in front
But your opal was the Star
You will always be there
The secret that I keep
That does not mean it controls me
Like my mother once trapped me
She put a scar on my hand
The bite of a dog
You protected me
As I protected my family
You gave me the courage
Dear Shadow, I love you
You carry the weight in my chest
And my heart on my sleeve
