The Need
The need, the power, the price
It’s what we think we need to live life right
Headstrong without any moral strength,
We struggle to create whatever we think we can make.
Hearts strung against the currents of the wave
Beating our fists for the sake of somehow defeating the grave
This is the moment where we make our first mistake.
Set on something so irreversibly omnipotent
We will sell our souls to purchase a beneficial adjustment
Gaining whatever we can take to rise higher and higher
Without even realizing that its time for our ambitions to retire.
It’s time to fix our minds towards the thing we cannot seem to speak of
It’s that little drive in our core God likes to call love.
Not tearing down, but building up
Using our grace and compassion to fill up our cup.
Without a doubt undoubtedly the power of together
Can overcome the stormy seas birthed by the worst kind of weather,
If we can place our hands into one another’s
I promise you there will be a love that grows like no other.
The need, the power, the price,
It is what we think we need to live life right
But if we burn that mentality and lift our eyes
We will have created something truly beautiful, the ultimate prize.
