The Needed Dream
A dream doth elude the understanding
of truth, yet lingers in one's mind unknown.
Sitting, waiting to be alive. Hoping
that you not leave it to decline alone.
In chase of desire, one must admit
it hardest to believe in hope unseen.
A seemingly futile war that is writ,
to be won by one that is keen.
In pursuit of the dream, oh, of the dream..
A lie? Behold my heart it dost persuade.
Perhaps, I know, but enough it redeems
of mere shadows of impressions paid.
Drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon
Only to see the sun itself rise soon.
