Needed You Most
When life turned dark and dreams went cold,
I'd reach for you just to hold,
But fear had gripped your fragile heart,
And loving me tore you apart.
You left when I turned small and weak,
When kindness was the thing I'd seek,
You vanished quick, left me to stand -
To face my world with empty hands.
One day will you wish to return,
To be the warmth when seasons burn,
Will I be here, or just a ghost,
You left me always when I needed you most.
