Needing Peace

When electricity crackles through

the sky and storms fall hard

over my head, all I need is you.

When the rushing wind

carries harsh words through

my mind and makes me

feel all my past regrets,

all I need is you.

As the unsettling thoughts that

interupt my sleep at night

squirm and shake through

every fiber of myself,

all I need is you.

As I take this one last

pill to ease my anxiety and

wash my worries away,

all I need is you.

Peace, serenity, composure,

freedom from reality,

all I need is you.
