Needs

They used to say that a woman NEEDED to wear makeup

They used to say that a woman NEEDED to stay at home to raise her family

They used to say a woman NEEDED to have a husband to have any happiness

Times have changed

They say “Oh I prefer the natural look”

Do they realize what they say is natural isn’t natural at all?

Do they realize that when we wear our natural faces society doesn’t consider us as beautiful as the woman who wears makeup?

What I NEED is for society to stop trying to tell women what is considered beautiful

What I NEED is to wear whatever clothes I choose, however much makeup I want and not feel the eyes of society looking down on me

The eyes of society judge me as I live my life

I NEED to be able to express myself in my own way without hearing that what I choose is wrong

I NEED my voice to be heard

I NEED to be seen as more than just a sexual object

I NEED to be taken seriously

What I really, truly, 100% NEED…..

I NEED to be seen for who I am not for what society has deemed me

All I NEED is for society to stop treating me as less than I am worth
