Neglected

This heart was full of love for you,

Though you never took a sip.

It overflowed until the spring ran

Dry and all that was left were broken

Memories in the form of dust around

This cracked shell that won’t seal

Correctly anymore. The only thing he did

Was care for you and die on the inside

Every day because you didn’t feel the

Same way, and I guess some might

Say that makes him evil. And in a way

Now, he is. Because when he spent all

Of his affection on you without it ever

Being returned, he forgot how to be

Anything else.
