Neglecting Tears

When growing up I prayed in tears,

In tears I prayed for you to come.

I cried away my lonely days

wishing you'd come home some day.

I wondered why, you left my side,

thinking I'd done something wrong that night.

Torturous thoughts worsen by time,

I just couldn't figure out why.

Was it so hard to call just once?

Was it so hard to hug me twice?

Those endless talks we could have had.

You left so mad, not knowing the pain I had.

Worthless we're the things they said,

Tainted the image of you in my head.

All those nights curled up in bed.

That broken heart laid there so dead.

You were the first to hold my hand,

You were the first to say goodbye.

I tried so hard to stop the pain,

Asking everybody to take your place.

Will you come back to hold me tight?

Will you come back for just one night?

Make up those years you left behind

Take back the emptiness of my heart.

Let me regain my peace of mind,

Tell me why you left th first time!

Have you not thought the pain you've caused?

Neglacting me, was the main cause.

The one thing I've cared to say,

Will never leave my lips again.

The consequences have been your fault,

You neglected me once more.

To call you what you once deserved,

Is nothing but a three letter word.

I enjoy expressing my self, and recently I found out poetry really helps accomplish that. It excites me to share my life experiences with everybody and getting to know one another through poetry
