Nerdy Novelist
You were the best creative artist in school
When nobody else really had a say
There was really only room for one like you
And everyone else had to get out of the way
Creatively brilliant but socially awkward
It is difficult for you to get through everyday life
Your abrasive personality, you just can't polish a turd
Everything with you is a struggle and a fight
Unappreciative and unapologetic as your people do the book events grunt work
Having to deal with your ego and demands is really more trouble than it's worth
But your literary mastery is the reason why they can pay their bills
They give in to your many demands while giving you looks that could kill
But people can't wait to read what you will write next
They love the Nerdy Novelist
They say you are a literary and creative genius
But I just see a Nerdy Novelist
You have completed your next adventure story
But everyone has read this story before
You mailed this one in for the money and the glory
As you sign copies of your best selling novel at the local bookstore
People wait in line for hours just to meet you
But you look at them with contempt like they are complete buffoons
They want you to personalize their book but you only sign your name
You tell them time constraints are getting in the way
There are the ones who put money in your pocket but you don't care
As they tell you they love you and your work, you give them a cold stare
They leave disappointed as you are not what they hoped you would be
But you don't care, they came to your event and you say, this is all about me!
But people can't wait to read what you will write next
They love the Nerdy Novelist
They say you are a creative and literary genius
But I just see a Nerdy Novelist
