Nessie at the Mall

Thu, 07/11/2019 - 15:21 -- Abbyk8

Have you seen? Have you heard?

There’s a monster in the mall.

She slithers through the wishing well

Waiting for pennies to fall

“Monster” is too dull a term

She shimmers gold and bright

With a quick eye, you can catch her

If the lighting falls just right

You would almost believe me, too

When Christmas rolls around.

Lore is mixed with truth

And myth and magic abound

Children pull their mothers’ sleeves

So easy to enthrall

Always begging for loose change

To feed Nessie at the mall.
