Never Again

Cut beaten and bruised Broken and used By this war I'm fighting against myself But on the outside I'm calm and unfazed Still breathing but in a daze Not hearing a word anyone is saying I'm fighting battles with myself On the outer front I'm fighting a war with you But you seem to have no clue Every word you're saying Is like an atomic bomb dropped On my city I'll disappear And slice myself open Because pain on the outside Feels better than pain within Like every cut somehow cures me All the pain on the outside Numb within And everything feels normal again The battle is over And I am left standing A lone soldier I close my eyes Another battle begins I'm losing And I'm slipping Falling I'm exhausted I'm done Because I've got no purpose Take that blade And slit my own wrists Everyone is just killing me slowly Thought I'd do them a favor And finish myself off No one understands How it is The cutting is just a Tylenol For my soul It relieves me of the pain That shouts through my brain I say I'm done and I hope I am There you go Never again.
