Never Enough For Them
I try so hard, I give it my all.
In the end, I still miss, I still fall.
I put in the work and time that no one knows.
I learn, and I grow, but it never shows.
No one can see how hard I try.
They tell me how I should fly.
They don't know what I've been through.
They're so hurtful, if only they knew.
My heart is already breaking, and now they say I'm not enough.
They didn't say those exact words, but their words and actions are too rough.
The pain becomes too real.
Turning mental pain into something I can feel.
My tears drip from my eyes the way my heart bleeds.
I though I could trust them, but they're not who my heart needs.
The crying begins like a drizzle and then becomes a downpour.
I can't contain the pain as I cry out on my bedroom floor.
I allow it to consume me, including my mind.
I'm not enough, and I never will be, until I find.
There in my sorrow, I notice a little light.
I heard a small voice wisper this isn't your fight
The pain I felt is no longer there.
The crying faded, and I no longer care.
Wanting that saftey I went to Jesus.
I could feel his embrace, no need to discuss.
For I know with Jesus, I don't have to be tough.
For I know when I am with him, I am enough.
