The Never Forgotten Night
August 16, 2016 a party was taking place.
Girls, guys, and more girls started showing up.
Nearly everybody had fun,
At least that was the case.
People laughing like it was their last night
Well, that’s because it was,
At least the last night of summer.
Drinks, drinks, and more drinks were in our presence.
Red solo cups filled to the rim as if it were water in them.
Looking around and there was a girl,
A lonely, sad girl, quietly holding a cup.
She was as quiet as a snail,
Stumbling over herself like a drunk.
The lonely, sad, quiet, girl left late that night.
Where did she go and how did she get home?
The girl ended up driving home by herself,
Not thinking about the safety of herself or others.
Next morning, big news strikes us all.
The word spread like wild fire.
As lonely, sad, girl was driving home,
She went the wrong way on the highway,
Saw headlights coming at her,
And by then it was too late to do anything about it.
Crash. Her life had just changed forever.
Walking the halls the next week as people stared at her like a lion staring at its prey.
Did nobody think about the traumatic event this girl had gotten into to?
Or was it all about the gossip?
Girl’s heart had dropped,
As she realized whom her real friends were.
Chest held high, and head tilted up,
The girl stayed strong as she walked the hallways.
Till this day, the girl is a different person,
And she knows everybody will realize one day that mistakes do happen.
Never judge a book by its cover.
People are not perfect.
In fact, perfection does not exist.
