Never Going to Be In Love with You

Dear Hunter,

I love you,

I really do.

But not in the way you want me to.

You try to change me, but you can't.

It is something I wish I could change,

But also, I can't.

He was my first everything.

The glimmer in his eyes

sets fires in my heart that I thought burnt out.

I cannot help that his flames swept my valleys of all life;

he left me lifeless.

Now I no longer live to feel the heat of his presence,

but the touch of his kiss

Again.

I'm sorry I can't feel this for you.

But I'm writing this with feelings

that have never been more true.

But I'm never going to be in love with you

the way that you want me to.
