Never Going To Stay

I had you high

You sat on the moon

As far as I was concerned

A sweet lullaby

To top off the worst day of my life

Had I known

Maybe I would've said something

But I let you go

Because we both know

Where a love like this goes

I burn

Because I burned for you

Every night

Every light

That went off inside me

When you were next to me

Suddenly everything means more

And then in the next breath

You're walking out that door

And I know

It's never been this cold

In the summer

Had I known

I would've saved you

I can't change it

I can't be your friend

You and I

We can't go back to what we were then

It's wrong

It's falling down on us

And I can't breathe with you

Crushing my heart

So I'll let you go

Even if doing so

Makes breathing a little harder

Makes this walk

A little longer

Because either way

One of us had to go

And you were never gong to stay
