Never Losing Because Thoughts Are Winning

I've washed upon this shore

Broke, starved, and homeless

Everything I once had is gone

Swallowed by the ocean's stomach

But it spit me back up and left me here

Alone, afraid, and not sure where to adhere

My hands writhe from the saltiness that has drenched them

My feet sore from the swelling cold

My head aching from rekindled memories

My heart aching because they are just memories

Despite all that is wrong I stand up

Walk into the land that my spirit merged with

As I go enter I turn around and give one last look at the ocean

The dark body of water laying flat amongst the setting sun

A ray of energy goes from it's light and into my body

Soaking in all there is I know I am ready

To take on this next new journey

Endure and explore all I have to be offered

For shunning what I don't know will only be the death of me
