"Never Really Here"
You were never really here, were you?
You lie and you say that you were ever-present,
Always listening.
But here, let me tell you a story.
There once was a girl,
Family of five, if the times were right,
But they never were.
The center of the family,
Bringer of life,
Bringer of sorrow,
Never wanted to be here.
Her mind was always somewhere else.
If she were to look at you, she would never see you.
Her eyes looked straight through you,
As if she were thinking about the abortion she wished she had gotten,
As if she were thinking "Please god get me out of here"
She never said it, but everyone knew that's what she meant.
"Yes honey, thats fine, go play"
"Yes, honey, I was listening, but go ahead and repeat it"
"Yes I will definitely be there"
"Honey, I'm sorry I couldn't be there, I tried my hardest"
"Honey, I'm moving, to a not so far place, but you can't come"
The girl saw the hollow,
Saw the cold,
Within the center's eyes.
The girl was freezing, waiting for the center of her world to notice her,
Open the door,
Invite her in,
But she never did.
The bringer of sorrow,
That became the better name for her,
Her hollow body held no love,
Held no hope,
Until the day she left.
You were never really here, were you?
You looked through all of us,
You thought you had us fooled,
But we all knew.
There is a quote,
"It takes two people to make you, and one people to die.
That is how the world is going to end."
You died, long before I came,
Your soul in a hollow grave,
And my world ended,
Because I knew,
That you were never really here.
