Never the same

Numbness

The stars no longer amaze me

the jokes no longer bring cheer

the tears no longer fall.

My days used to be filled

with colors instead of grey

My eyes shined bright

sparlking with dreams and hopes

Until the day

The day she was gone forever

She who had cared for me everyday of my life,

she who built me within her,

She who devoted her life to me

laid in front of me

cold

emotionless

there yet gone.

I

my mother

my life

my family

would never be the same
