im in the shadows

he is in the spotlight

but he is my inspiration

not because of his music

but because of his outlook

negativity is constantly following him

yet he doesn't let that become a neighbor of his

he absorbs that hatred and terror

and instead lets out a lighthearted presence

to children, the poor, and the entire world

a difference is always being made

yet it is being covered up

by troublemakers who wait to tear him down

he is a mentor, inspiration, and a phenomon to me

not because of his music but of his dedication of continuous motivation

there was another side of me that always wanted to give up in life

but a voice had fought back

he told me to keep running toward the soccer goal

he told me to run as fast as i could on the track

he told me to answer all the problems on the math final even though time was running out

he told me to continue youtube and to forget the world ever existed

he told me to explore the world and make a mark
