Never Theirs

Bodies are not meant to be measured

They are not meant to be squeezed into too skinny jeans

Or hidden in shame under clothing you don't even like

Your body is your own

Your own planet

Own kingdom

Simply your own

Hatiing it is an instinct

In a world where physical beauty matters most

But you don't have to have a certain number on a scale to be beautiful

You are beautiful

For the way you light up a room

For the way you make people feel

With the worlds you let spill onto pages in masses

With the art you create with your hands

On canvases

On bodies

For the way your mind runs at the speed at light with thoughts, with curiousity, with passion

You

are a chaotic beauty

A reckless innovation

You will never be the store bought item of society's selection

Never let them take you

Wrap you in lace

Sit you on a shelf

And call that beauty
