Never Too Late

Hanging on

By a threat

I'm wrong

You're right

Another day

Another lonely night

You win

We fight

I can't make this alright

If you don't give me a chance

So we stand in the rain

Same dance

No one wins like this

I'm trying

I'm really trying here

And as I fear

You keep getting farther away

Reaching out

Grasping air

You fight unfair

Blows

To the temple

You never knew

What I did

To get back to you

And now you're saying

It's too late

You can't take it

Don't want to wait

My apologies

Barely make a dent

Your goodbye

Feels permanent

And I start to panic

It rises

In my throat

Like vomit

Enough is enough

I'm over it

But I can't let you go

Did you know

I've been changing

To be better for you

Did you care

That I've been fighting my way

Back to you

I'd let you go

If you wanted that

But you're here

Face to face

We rewind

For another moment

Take it back

I stand my ground

Wait it out

Count down

To ten

And wait

But you hold on and say

It's never too late
