to compare it

to the first steps of a young calf

doesn't do it justice.

to say it's like the first flight

of an eaglet, 

petrifying and liberating,

doesn't begin to describe it.

life Becoming less and less like you thought it would be

yet

more and more satisfying. exhilarating.

this is the Beginning. this is where it Starts.

running, not walking

diving

into the glacial water that stings your skin

and wakes you
