A New Beginning
Silenced by those who didn't see my worth
I lost my way but found my words
They looked at me like I didn't belong on this earth
But poetry was there to allow me to be heard
It opened my eyes and unsealed my lips
When I had no voice because I was voiceless
I wanted to give up, I wanted to quit
But I was able to see that from sorrow can come greatness
I rose from my darkness and out of the ashes came
A girl who knew she was no longer the same
She was finally living
Because she had gotten her new beginning.
