of a new beginning

every once in a while

i am greeted by the beauty

of the Earth.

beauty in its rawest form,

a never-ending light.

the fire of the Earth

shining truth,

cleansing in the darkest night.

and yet,

i cannot hold the fire

within my soul

without being engulfed by

what we once had

and stripped of the words

you whispered from the stars.

the fire of our Earth

gave us both flames,

but your flames turned to ashes

and blew like dust in the wind.

so i lay, finding peace

in all i have lost

as i rest in the darkness

of a new beginning.

- our ending is my beginning
