New Birth

John 16:13

13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come.

 New birth

The spirit is quickened here and that is done by Christ.

I did not know I had ... a spirit of my own?

I am who I am, I thought ... the way I feel enticed.

The way I think and stay ... where I am at home?

To be quickened in the spirit ... did not change my flesh.

It changed some of the things I did ... but old habits don’t leave easy.

I had different desires ... and they made me feel at best

that I had changed a lot ... not to live only for self-pleasing.

The moment I came forward ... with my heart pounding

and my mind screaming: ... “Wait for another day”.

I had no strength to move then ... but I still flowed to the fountain

on the power of someone else ... is that is the only Way?

God led me to repentance ... in more ways than one.

The receiving of Christ in me ... was despite my humanness.

Divinity then settled ... beyond what I had done.

Christ completed what I could not ... through His Holiness.

God just touched me, where was I? ... I could not resist.

The part He touched was dead in me ... and surely had no feelings.

I did not know He was doing this ... for death was ruling freely

and the sins, that I enjoyed till then ... were the most appealing.

He washed me clean with the Blood ... I remember how it felt.

I never had been clean before ... so I did not like that feeling.

I cried: “Enough!” when barely wet ... but Christ just kept moving

me into the crimson flood ... while He just kept tenderly squeezing.

Tenderness and merciful ... loving and sympathetic

slowly develops in the one ... who was to be me.

Two steps forward and one step back ... my progress is pathetic.

But it is not me Who’s moving me ... but Love Who sets me free.

I will use my feeling ... to express Who lives inside.

A “to the cross committed” soul ... has not lost its function.

To walk in God’s power ... so the natural is denied

not deprived of emotion ... but with a hunger for perfection.

When God guides an emotion ... His Hand leads me on.

It is newly created ... and the noblest in me.

The image of Christ ... as He just carries on

in my desire to be like Him ... lovingly and free.
